11-day musical treat at Bidaram Krishnappa’s Sri Prasanna Seetarama Mandira
The much- awaited 107th Ramanavami Annual Heritage Music Festival of Ganavisharadha Shri Bidaram Krishnappa’s Sri Prasanna Seetharama Mandira is scheduled to commence on Mar. 30.
The 11-day festival will be inaugurated tomorrow at 5.30 pm by President of the institution R. Guru. This will be followed by the inaugural concert with a Saxophone Recital by Vid. Harish Pandav accompanied by Vid. Vaibhav Ramani on violin, Vid. Sunil Subramanya on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Kaushik on ghata.
The following 10 days will witness grand concerts by a galaxy of eminent musicians from across India.
March 31: Vidu. Aishwarya Vidya Raghunath will present a grand vocal concert. She will be accompanied by Vidu. Aditi Krishnaprakash on violin, Vid. B.S. Prashanth on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata.
April 1: Vidu. Ila Sangeetha Dilip and Vid. K.J. Dilip will present a violin duet concert. They will be accompanied by Vid. Cheluvaraju on mridanga, Vid. N. Gurumurthy on ghata and Vid. Sunad Anoor on kanjara.
April 2: Sri Purandaradasa and Sri Thyagaraja Swamy Aradhana will be held at the Rama Mandira premises at 10 am. Senior musicians and students will pay their homage through singing the Pancharathna kritis of Saint Thyagaraja on the occasion. This will be followed by prasadam.
In the evening of April 2, Vidu. Gayathri Venkatraghavan from Chennai will present a grand vocal concert accompanied by Vid. Mysore Srikanth on violin, Vid. B.C. Manjunath on mridanga and Vid. Srinidhi on ghata. This concert is supported by Raaga Music Academy.
April 3: Vid. Sandeep Narayan from Chennai will present a grand vocal concert accompanied by Vid. Mathur Srinidhi on violin, Vid. Tumkur Ravishankar on mridanga and Vid. Shamith S. Gowda on ghata.
April 4: Vidu. Hiranmayee Srinidhi from Chennai will present a Karnatak Vocal Concert. She will be accompanied by Vid. Keshav Mohan Kumar on violin, Vid. A. Radesh on mridanga and Vidu. Bhagyalakshmi Krishna on morching.
April 5: Vid. Dr. Vidyabhushana will be presenting a Karnatak classical vocal concert. He will be accompanied by Vid. Sumanth Manjunath on violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy on mridanga, Vid. Raghunandan Rao on ghata and Vid. M. Nagaraj on tabla.
April 6: Pt. Sameer Rao will be presenting a grand Hindustani bansuri recital. He will be accompanied by Pt. Adarsh Shenoy on tabla.
April 7: Vidu. Manasi Prasad will be presenting a Karnatak vocal concert. She will be accompanied by Vidu. Aditi Krishnaprakash on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on ghata.
April 8: Vid. Pattabhiram Pandit will present a grand vocal duet. He will be accompanied by Vid. Mathur Srinidhi on violin, Vid. H.S. Sudheendra on mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan Rao on ghata.
April 9: Sri Rama Pattabhisheka will be performed at 11 am followed by prasadam at 1 pm. Evening will witness a grand finale with a violin duet concert by the renowned Mysore Brothers — Vid. Mysore M. Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore M. Manjunath. They will be accompanied by Vid. Srimushnam Rajarao on the mridanga and Vid. Giridhar Udupa on ghata.
All concerts commence at 6.15 pm. Entry to the concerts is free.
