10th Graduation Day at SJCE: ‘Versatile minds convert knowledge to products’

Mysuru: “Versatile minds convert knowledge to products by bridging technology and society,” said High Court Judge Ashok G. Nijagannavar.

He was speaking at the 10th Graduation Day ceremony at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) at its campus here yesterday morning.

Ashok pointed out that innovation was a key managerial strategy for growth. He said that a large population of the country live in villages and added that technological innovation should also reach the rural people. He contended that education should be able to enlighten the civilization.

Referring to life after education, Ashok suggested students to have intellectual curiosity and continue the process of learning even after coming out of the comfortable cocoon of university. 

He maintained that the habit of reading helps people to refresh their mind and  stressed the need for moral leadership with courage and intellectual integrity. 

He said that education will be in vain if it is not fostered with clear independent thinking. He summed up saying that character and dedication of the young generation can ensure the survival of true freedom.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr.C.G. Betsurmath presided. College Principal Dr.T.N. Nagabhushan, Controller of Examination Dr.K.N. Udaykumar, Vice-Chancellor of JSS Science and Technology University Dr.L. Jawahar Nesan, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Director (Technical Education) C. Ranganathaiah, Governing Council Members R.C. Jagadish, Syed Shakeeb Ur Rehman, JSS Science and Technology University Registrar K.S. Lokesh and others were present.

Degree certificate were presented to 875 candidates and 21 medals to those who had excelled.
