Colombo: Mysuru lad C. Vasisht, representing India in the $15,000 ITF F3 Futures Sri Lanka Men’s Tennis Tournament at Colombo, on Wednesday lost his Men’s Singles pre-quarter-final match against Argentina’s Ignacio Caron 3-6, 6-7(3) and bowed out of the Tournament.
In the first round, Vasisht beat Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 to progress further. Vasisht qualified for the tournament proper by winning his qualifying round matches against Yugal Bansal 6-4, 6-7 (9), 6-4 and over C. Ranun Anirudh 6-0, 7-6 (0). In the previous leaf held at Colombo from June 18 to 24, Vasisht lost in the Men’s Singles first round to David Perez (ESP) 1-6, 1-6, while Prajwal Dev also lost in the first round to Abhinav Shanmugham 6-7(6) 1-6.
