Mysuru lads C. Vasisht and S.D. Prajwal Dev entered the main draw in the Men’s Singles event of $15,000 ITF Men’s Futures Tennis Tournament being held at Kalinga Sports Complex, Bhubaneshwar, Odhisa, yesterday.

In the final qualifying round, Vasisht got the better of Abinav Sanjeev Shanmugham 6-4, 6-3 and in the first round, had scored a well earned 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-1 win over Anirudh Chandrashekar.

Another Mysuru lad Prajwal Dev beat Hardeep Singh Sandhu 7-6(7), 5-7, 6-0 to enter the main draw. In the first round, Prajwal Dev beat Amarnath Arora 6-3, 6-4.

In the Men’s Doubles main draw, city’s Suraj R. Prabodh, teaming up with Dalwinder Singh, lost to Kazuma Kawachi & ChlenHsun Lo 6-7(2), 0-6 in the pre-quarter-finals. Suraj Prabodh has been given a wild card in the Men’s Singles main draw which begins from today.
