The 15th Major Dhyanchand Hockey Tournament for Schools and Colleges organised by National Sports Day Celebration Committee was inaugurated by Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah at Chamundi Vihar Stadium here this morning.

The five-day tournament will feature 35 teams among 19 are boys team from various colleges, two college girls team, five high school boys team, three high school girls team, four primary school boys team and two primary school girls team.

The organisers also felicitated Nagabhushan Aradhya for authoring a book on Maj. Dhyanchand, SAI Gymnastic coach (retd.) Arun Patil and T. Puttaswamy, former Swimming Coach, University of Mysore.

Committee President and Andolana Editor Rajashekara Koti, Vice-Presidents Ln. Krishne Gowda  and Dr. C. Venkatesha, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports Assistant Director S. Suresh, Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Chairman Dr. Madialagan and others were present.
