Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering(VVCE) and SBRR Mahajana FGC clinched the College boys and girls titles respectively in the 15th Major Dhyanchand Memorial Hockey Tournament 2017 conducted by National Sports Day Celebration Committee at the Chamundi Vihar Stadium here, yesterday.
In the College boys final, Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering beat St. Philomena’s FGC 5-3 (via penalties) after being level 1-1 at full time. In the girls section, SBRR Mahajana FGC scored a 2-1 win over DOSPES, Mysuru (via penalties) after being equal 1-1 at full time.
Final Scores – College Boys: Vidya Vardhaka Engineering College 5 (Nischal 32, Somanna, Nischal, Hashim, Nehal) bt St. Philomena’s FGC 3 (Margue 34, David, Margue) (Full time 1-1) (Via penalties).
3rd place Play-off: Vidyashram FGC 2 ( Kaushik 12, Kaverappa 15) bt SJCE 0.
College Girls: SBRR Mahajana FGC 2 (Lavanya 5, Pallavi) bt DOSPES, Mysuru 1 (Megha 20) (Full time 1-1) (by penalties).
High School Boys: Demonstration Multipurpose School 4 (Rahul 4, Siddaraju 10, Prajwal 20, Shivaprasad 39) bt JSS 1 (Chandru 14).
High school Girls: Demonstration School 2 (Rashmi 4, Aishwarya 9) bt JSS ‘A’ 0.
