18th Asian Roller Skating Championship: Senior and Junior India Relay Teams win Medals

Mysuru’s Dr. Varsha Puranik and Rea Achaiah are part of the winning teams

Mysuru girl Dr. Varsha Puranik was part of the Indian Relay Team which won the Silver Medal in the 3000 mts Relay in Senior Women’s Category of at the 19th Asian Roller Skating Championships 2018 at Korea today.

Chinese Taipei bagged Gold with a timing of 4:30.398s, followed by India (4:40.634s) and Japan (4:44.360s).

In Junior Girls Relay event, Indian team bagged Bronze Medal today. Another Mysuru girl Rea Achaiah was part of this medal-winning team.

Rea Achaiah, who also represented India in the Junior Girls 20km Elimination Race of the Championships on Thursday, won Bronze Medal.

Dr. Varsha Puranik (daughter of R. Srirama Krishna and Thara Srirama) and Rea Achaiah (daughter of K.N. Achaiah and Priya Achaiah) are trained by K. Srikantha Rao, Indian team coach and Ekalavya Award winner at the Rao’s Roller Skating Club in Mysuru.
