2.7 lakh Health Cards distributed in district

Mysuru: District Administration, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Mysore Bar Association and Department of Health and Family Welfare together had organised a legal awareness programme with reference to Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka (ABAK) Scheme at Vaidyara Bhavan here yesterday.

Inaugurating the programme, Principal District and Sessions Judge and DLSA Chairman S.K. Vontigodi said that the Government was implementing several schemes for the benefit of people.

He further said that the legal awareness programme would solve many issues pertaining to any case through mediation. He added that ABAK Health Cards were useful to all people.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar opined that a good health could be maintained by controlled consumption of sugar, salt and oil with no over-eating of any food.

He disclosed that 2,33,076 Health Cards under ABAK Scheme have been distributed at Registered Service Centres and another 35,945 cards at Block Health Office Service Centres.

Symbolically, the Health Cards were distributed to about 10 people on the occasion.

DLSA Member-Secretary B.P. Devamane, District Health Officer Dr. Venkatesh, Dr. B.S. Pushpalatha, Dr. Ramachadra, Bar Association President S. Anand Kumar and others were present.
