Mysuru: A 20-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death by his friends following a quarrel after consuming alcohol at Metagalli in city on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Gaurav, a resident of Raghavendra Colony in Hassan town. He had come to Mysuru to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with his friends at Kaveri Layout in Metagalli.
According to the Police, the group had consumed alcohol after the celebrations, following which an argument broke out. The quarrel soon escalated, during which Gaurav was allegedly stabbed with a knife.
He sustained serious injuries and collapsed on the spot. On being alerted, the Police rushed to the scene and shifted the body to the mortuary at K.R. Hospital.
Metagalli Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused, identified as Abhi, Arjun and their associates. Further investigation is under way to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the murder.
