Pandikanda Pemmaiah (72), a retired Police officer and a resident of Halugunda village, passed away yesterday in Bengaluru following a heart attack. Pemmaiah had served the Police Department for almost 34 years and was also the recipient of the Chief Minister’s Medal. Last rites were performed at Halugunda village today.

Rachegowda (72), former Gram Panchayat President and a resident of Haraganapura village in Nanjangud taluk, passed away yesterday at his residence. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at his native place this morning.

Shivakumari (57), wife of Bellappa and a resident of Gowrishankar Nagar, passed away yesterday in city. She leaves behind her husband, son M.B. Vijay, daughter Kavitha, daughter-in-law, grandson and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were performed at the Lingayat Burial Grounds in Vidyaranyapuram this noon.

N.V. Shanthamma (84), wife of late N. Venkatarathnam Shetty and a resident of Saraswathipuram, passed away on Jan. 30 in city following brief illness. She leaves behind son N.V.
