22nd National Deaf Chess Championship 2019-20: Four players share lead

Four players G. Krishna Reddy (AP), Rohit Sharma (Delhi), G. Palani (Karnataka) and K.M. Shashidhara (Mysuru) with 5.5 points from 6 rounds, jointly share the lead at the end of the sixth round on the penultimate day of the 22nd National Deaf Championship 2019-20 played at Rahul Convention Hall in city yesterday.

In the sixth round, playing on the top board, Rahul Sharma and G. Krishna Reddy were involved in a drawn encounter. G. Palani of Karnataka playing with black pieces on the second board scored a convincing win over Bhushan Pawar.

Mysuru’s Shashidhara of Railways scored a well-earned win over R. Santhanu, while Mysuru’s A. Aadish scored a good win over Bimla Sharma and is placed 17th in the placings after six rounds. Fourteen players are tied with 5 points each and are placed from fifth to eighteenth place in the ranking after the sixth round. The tournament concludes this evening.
