25 transport workers face action for violence during bus strike

Bengaluru:  A total of 25 workers belonging to the four State-run Transport Corporations of the State will face action for assaulting fellow staff who attended work and damaged buses during the four-day Statewide stir launched by transport workers from Dec. 11 to 14, seeking Government employee status for them.

A joint press release issued by the four Transport Corporations — KSRTC, BMTC, NEKRTC and NWKRTC — said that disciplinary action against 13 workers of KSRTC, 3 of BMTC and 9 of NEKRTC and none of NWKRTC has been taken for various offences.

Maintaining that disciplinary action has been taken only in a limited proportion  in cases where FIRs have been registered, the release clarified that, however, no decision has been taken as yet regarding deduction of wages for the strike period of four days.
