New Delhi:The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has once again clinched the prestigious Overall Best Team Rolling Trophy at the 29th Inter CAPF Debate Competition.
The event, organised by the Border Security Force (BSF) under the aegis of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), was held at Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan, Lodhi Road in New Delhi recently.
This victory marks CISF’s 10th consecutive win, underscoring the force’s consistent excellence and intellectual prowess. The annual competition serves as a vital platform for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to showcase their understanding of human rights issues.
In the Hindi language category, SI/Exe Rahul Kumar and Asst. Comdt Kanha Joshi secured the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In the English category, Asst. Comdt Akshay Badola and Asst. Comdt Bhaskar Chaudhary achieved the 2nd and 3rd positions.
The team’s success can be attributed to their outstanding oratory skills, meticulous research and profound grasp of human rights topics, further honed by their training at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA).
The NHRC Debate Competition featured a distinguished jury comprising Jyotika Kalra, Former NHRC Member, as Chief Juror, alongside Prof. Dr. G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor of NLU Delhi and Dr. Ish Kumar, IPS, Former DG of Vigilance and Enforcement.
All eight CAPFs — CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NSG, RPF and Assam Rifles — participated in the competition, structured into three stages with thought-provoking themes:
A Police force with concern for Human Rights becomes more effective.
Security forces are the supreme protectors of Human Rights.
Custodial death is not acceptable in any situation.
This accomplishment highlights CISF’s unwavering commitment to human rights, fostering awareness and intellectual development within its ranks.
It also showcases the exceptional talent and dedication of CISF personnel, who, beyond their professional duties, contribute significantly to promoting critical societal values.
