3-day Paridrishya International Short Films Festival begins

Mysore/Mysuru: Paridrishya 4th International Festival of Short Films & Documentaries-2026 hosted by Mysuru Cinema Society was inaugurated by Kannada actor and Rajya Sabha MP Jaggesh at Maharaja’s College Grounds, here this morning.

The three-day film festival will witness screening of more than 300 short films and documentaries from more than 104 countries including India, Iran, Spain, France, Brazil, Russia, Poland, Italy, China, Germany among others  at the venue till Feb. 22.  Among the Indian short films and documentaries includes those in Kannada, Hindi, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Odia languages. Apart from screening of short films and documentaries, master classes from industry experts including Jogi Girish Rao Hatwar, Manish Desai, Timmothy Pollock and P. Sheshadri have also been organised.

Panel discussions on ‘Story to Screenplay’, ‘Cinema as a tool for shaping narratives’ and ‘The Path of Kannada Cinema’ will be held during the three-day event.

Cultural programmes like folk art performance, musical nite by Rajesh Krishnan and M.D. Pallavi, Hemanth Kumar and Lahari Mahesh will be held on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21 at main stage.

The award ceremony is on Feb. 22 at 5.30 pm.

Script writer Jogi Girish Rao Hatwar, lyricist Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad, actress Karunya Rao Gowda, Mysuru Cinema Society President M. Chethan, Hon. President Dr. G. R. Chandrashekar, Secretary Padmavathi Bhat and Vice President Prof. Shobith Rangappa were present on the occasion.
