Mysuru: Prof. Rajamohan, a native of Huttukola in Kolar district, has donated 30 highly rare and valuable manuscripts to the prestigious Oriental Research Institute (ORI) in Mysuru.
Currently serving as a guest lecturer at the MBA Department in Mangaluru, Prof. Rajamohan hails from a family with a lineage of priesthood.
By handing over this rare treasure of knowledge, which had been carefully preserved by his family for generations, to the Institute for the benefit of researchers and society, he has become a role model.
From a research perspective, these manuscripts are of immense importance, as they primarily contain unique and rare recensions of great epics such as the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Andhra Mahabhagavata. It is expected that these manuscripts will offer new insights to researchers of ancient Indian literature, culture and history.
Preserving the ancient wealth of knowledge of our land for future generations is the primary duty of us all. In this regard, the Oriental Research Institute expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Rajamohan for his generous donation of such a large number of manuscripts.
The Director of the Institute, Dr. D.P. Madhusudanacharya, stated that the public can join hands in the scientific preservation of such manuscripts and palm leaves that remain hidden or unknown in their homes, mutts and temples by handing them over to the Institute.
