30th State Para Games 2020: Bengaluru and Mysuru win Sitting Volleyball titles

Bengaluru and Mysuru teams emerged winners in the Men and Women Sitting Volleyball Tournaments respectively organised as part of the 30th State-level Para Games held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium here yesterday.

In the men’s tournament, Hassan team took home runners trophy and Bagalkot won third place and in women’s tournament, Bengaluru team emerged runners-up.

Wheelchair Basketball: Belagavi – 1st prize and Bengaluru – 2nd; Kabaddi: Bagalkot – 1st, Koppal – 2nd and Gadag – 3rd; Table Tennis: Belagavi – 1st, Vijayapura – 2nd and Bengaluru – 3rd prize.

The State-level Para Games were jointly organised by Karnataka Sports Association for Physically Handicapped (KSAPH), Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES), Zilla Panchayat (ZP) and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC).

KSAPH President M. Mahadeva, Vice-President R. Ramachandra, Working President Ravikumar Pattanashetty, Organising Secretary Praveen Ulagaddi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manishankar Raju were present during the prize distribution ceremony.

Mysuru para athletes excel

Mysuru para athletes, M.S. Nagendra, Srinivas and Anantha Rao, too impressed at the Sports Meet by winning Gold Medals respectively in Rifle Shooting, Table Tennis and Throwing events for wheelchair para athletes.
