Bengaluru: A 35-ft has been installed by eight artists at the Red Field Ground in Wilson Garden in Bengaluru yesterday.
The organisation, Vimochana Welfare Trust, has planned a week-long event at the Red Field Ground in Wilson Garden where devotees will offer prayers to the giant fibre-and-steel Shiva, made at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh.
D.V. Harish, a member of the Trust, on Monday said the statue was built to radiate positive energy to stop the second wave of Coronavirus, in whose shadows this year’s Mahashivarathri will be celebrated.
“The statue has been built based on designs suggested by Vaastu experts and has looks different from other statues of Lord Shiva. The Vaastu elements are aimed at destroying the virus through the positive energy it emits,” he said.
Harish stated that the statue is open to public viewing from Mar. 8 to 14. The organisers have lined up a series of cultural and spiritual events, where artistes will perform music and dance. The night-long event is expected to lure more crowds. Several spiritual leaders and celebrities are expected to take part.
