39 cattle rescued and shifted to Pinjrapole

They were being transported to slaughter house in Kerala

Nanjangud: About 39 cattle, which was being transported in a goods vehicle to slaughter houses at Kerala, were rescued near Geekallihundi village in the taluk by the activists of Yuva Brigade and four accused were handed over to the Police.

The accused are driver of the goods vehicle Maqbool of N.R. Mohalla in Mysuru and Nayeem Pasha of Bharathnagar, Venkataiah of Gundlupet and vehicle owner Jaan Pasha.

Based on the information that cattle was being transported to Kerala in a goods vehicle, the Yuva Brigade activists led by Zonal Convenor S. Chandrashekar, intercepted the vehicle near Geekallihundi.

Nanjangud Police Station Sub-Inspector Shivanna, Rural Sub-Inspector Puneeth and staff, who rushed to the spot, took custody of the accused.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have told the Cops that they were transporting the cattle to Kerala via Gundlupet. Later, the case was registered at Biligere Police Station and the cattle were shifted to Pinjrapole in Mysuru.
