Mysuru: The 41st Annual District Lions Convention was held at Shubhodini Convention Centre on Hebbal Ring Road here this morning.

About 1,500 representatives of 120 Lions Clubs of District 217-A participated in the programme.

Addressing the gathering Lions District Governor M. Anil Kumar expressed satisfaction with the social works done by the clubs of the district. He added that furniture had been given to government schools.

In a symbolic gesture a prosthetic leg was donated to Sadiq Banu, a 12-year- old crippled girl from Hunsur. As per the plan 50  such prosthetic aids will be given to needy persons. Past Lion International Director V.V.    Krishna Reddy was the Guest of Honour.

Dr. Bhasyam Swamiji, Founder, Sri Yoganarasimha Swamy Temple, Vijayanagar graced the occasion. Convention Co-ordinator M.C. Bansil and others were present.
