The following athletes, representing the Mysore District Masters Athletic Association, Mysuru, excelled in the 41st State Masters Athletic Championship-2021, held at Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium, Ajjarkadu, Udupi, by winning medals in various categories:
Veteran athlete N.R. Shankar Rao won two gold medals in the 90-plus men’s section in the 5km walk, 100m and 200m events.
MVV Swamy won three gold medals in the men’s 80-plus section. In the 35-plus age category, M. Vijayshankar, G.G. Raghunandan and Amarnath won three gold medals each.
The other athletes who won medals are M.M. Nanaiah (3 gold); Balarame Gowda, Parvathy Kantharaj & Prabhamani (2 gold each); M.P. Chandrashekhar (1 gold & 2 silver); Kala Satish (1 gold & 1 silver); T.S. Subbalakshmi and Netravathy (1 gold each), V. Rekha (1 gold), Narasimha Prasad (1 gold & 2 silver), P.G. Chandrashekhar & Subba Setty (1 gold each), B.K. Somashekar (1 gold & 1 silver), N. Manju (1 gold & 1 silver), K.N. Somashekar (1 gold & 1 bronze), H.M. Chandrashekhar (1 gold), Dr. Sandeep (1 gold & 1 silver), M.P. Umesh (2 silver & 1 bronze), M. Yogendra (2 silver), S. Mahadevu (1 silver & 2 bronze), Rani B. Raju (1 silver & 2 bronze), Bharathi (2 silver) and Nirmala & Narayan (1 bronze each).
