Mysuru: Kumar Performing Arts Centre (KPAC), Mysuru, will be hosting the 48th International Nirantara Kalemane Festival at its Kalemane Sabhaangana in Hebbal 2nd Stage on Nov. 24 at 2.30 pm.
Prof. P.V. Nanjaraja Urs, retired Professor from Maharaja’s College, will be the chief guest.
The Festival includes a felicitation ceremony to honour three distinguished personalities from Mysuru, who have received the Karnataka Rajyotsava Awards and the Karnataka Kalashree Award for 2024, presented by the Government of Karnataka and Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy respectively.
They are Rajyotsava awardees Guru Lalitha Kore M. Rao, Artistic Director, Shantala Nritya Kalaniketan; Prof. Padma Shekar, former Vice-Chancellor, Karnataka Sanskrit University and Karnataka Kalashree Awardee T. Ravindra Sharma, Artistic Director, Ravi Nritya Kala Mandira.
The following performances will follow the felicitation ceremony:
Hindustani Classical Vocal Concert by Dr. Krishnamurthy Ganapati Bhat, Associate Professor, SDM College, Honnavar.
Group Light Classical Vocal Concert by Guru Kshama Katwar, Artistic Director, Shrikripa Kala Balaga, Mysuru and her disciples.
Kuchipudi performance by Vidu. Shweta Prasanna, Artistic Director, Nartanam School of Kuchipudi, Bengaluru and her troupe.
Bharatanatyam performance by Vid. Darshan Shankar, Artistic Director, Kapardhini School of Divine Dancing, Bengaluru and his disciples.
Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Lakshmy Vishwanathan and her daughter Tanvi Vinod of Margam Arts Foundation, Mysuru.
