An artiste enacting as Pothuraju, who is considered the fierce, protective brother of Mother Goddess Mahakali. A defining element of the performance is the long, thick whip (chabuku) that he carries. As shown in the image, he frequently interacts with the crowd and performs high-energy dances to resonant, fast-paced folk percussion beats (Teenmaar drums).
