Mysore/Mysuru: As many as 8,200 candidates have registered their names for ‘KSOU Virtual JobKart’ launched jointly by the Placement Cell of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru and JobKart India, Mysuru, this morning.

Prof. S. Vidyashankar, Vice- Chancellor, KSOU, launched online mega Job Mela at Board of Members Hall, Muktagangothri. This online registration is opened for candidates up to March 22.

Speaking on the occasion, the VC said a total of 93 companies are participating in this virtual job mela for which 8,200 candidates have enrolled so far. The KSOU was holding such job fairs for the benefit of Degree, Diploma and Post Graduate students.

S.V. Venkatesh, Founder and CEO, Mysuru, said the speciality of this job mela was that candidates have to upload their primary details by downloading JobKart App from playstore on mobile phone. Besides, the candidates have to upload one minute video on their education qualification. All documents pertaining to education must be shared in profile link. Then they can search about the availability of jobs to suit their education qualification. Companies will shortlist the candidates and call for interview online. This will be followed by one to one interview. Around 4,000 jobs were available across the State, he added.

Dr. R.H. Pavitra, Placement Officer, KSOU, said 92 companies from across the State were participating in this job mela at the invitation of JobKart. This time, 8,200 candidates have enrolled so far. They can register their names till Mar. 22. In 2019, a similar Job Mela was held in which 3,900 candidates had got jobs as against 7,000 enrolled candidates.
