Grand Master Deepan Chakravarthy with six points from six rounds emerged as the sole leader in the 9th BRDCA International Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament 2017, being held at Bengaluru yesterday.
Sekar (TN), A. Balkishan (KAR), S.S. Manigandan (TN) are tied with 5.5 points and are placed from second to fourth respectively in the placings. A. Augustin (SJCE, Mysuru) with five points is placed fifth.
Mysuru’s V.P.S. Darshan (4 pts-31st place), L. Vivekananda (4 pts-47th place), WCM A.N. Shefali (Mandya-3 points) and Dhatri Umesh -3 points) are also faring well in the tournament.
