Mysore/Mysuru: K. Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Director of Abdul Nazir Sab State Institute of Rural Development (ANSSIRD) and Panchayat Raj said “Discipline, commitment and perseverance are a must for the candidates preparing for competitive examinations.”

She was speaking after inaugurating the coaching camp organised for IAS and KAS aspirants, by KSOU Competitive Exams Training Centre at Mukthagangothri in city recently.

“Prior to taking up any exams, one should have a clarity over the exams at the primary level. It is indeed commendable that all of you have gathered here to understand about the exams,” said Lakshmi Priya pointing at the aspirants of competitive exams.

“While these workshops serve as a guide to study, you are wholly responsible towards studying as per the guidance. Everybody has equal opportunity to write the exams, with no discrimination in question papers.  Hence, there is no need to develop inferiority complex. You can’t expect motivation from outside all the time and we have to motivate ourselves most of the time. In the recent days, women excelling in the exams should serve as an inspiration. Revise whatever you have read and study according to the syllabus and correct the minute mistakes. Don’t crack your brains over those pulling your legs and make it a habit to learn new things daily,” said Lakshmi Priya in her tips to the students.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Seema Latkar, who was the chief guest, said “Most of the students fail in fixing a target which assumes significance in life. At the beginning, fix smaller targets and fix one another after achieving the earlier target, which helps in reaching bigger goals in life.”

Develop a passion for reading, as the students nowadays lack patience. Don’t feel low and inferior upon failure in exams and leave the failure to society. We can’t be party to the society that always looks down upon us.  Instead continue to study, as it is possible to achieve with zeal, time consciousness and perpetuating efforts, said SP Latkar.

KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse said “Like the saying of Swami Vivekananda ‘Stop Not Till the Goal is Reached’, don’t stop anywhere and try to achieve your goal. One cannot achieve without working hard and self-confidence is the only driving force to reach the goal.”

KSOU Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. K.B. Praveena,  Programme Coordinator Jainahalli Sathyanarayana and others were present on the occasion.
