A.H. Vishwanath’s son-in-law transferred from Chief Engineer’s post

MLA A.H. Vishwanath

Bengaluru: In what is considered as a setback for senior leader A.H. Vishwanath,  who had unsuccessfully contested as the BJP candidate in the Hunsur by-poll in December last, the State Government on Friday transferred his son-in-law Ramendra from the post of Chief Engineer, PWD (Communications and Buildings).

Shivayogi Hiremath, who is considered close to Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa has replaced Ramendra as the  Chief Engineer.

Vishwanath, who was the JD(S) MLA from Hunsur, quit his post after a tiff with the then Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy over the appointment of his son-in-law Ramendra as PWD Chief Engineer. Vishwanath after revolting against the JD(S) leadership over the issue,  played a key role in the collapse of H.D. Kumaraswamy-led JD(S)-Congress Coalition Government.

With the BJP Government coming into power later, Vishwanath used his proximity to CM B.S. Yediyurappa to get the PWD Chief Engineer’s post to Ramendra. But a few months later, Ramendra has been transferred from the post and Shivayogi Hiremath has been appointed in his place, which has reportedly shocked Vishwanath, who is making continuous efforts to find a berth in the Yediyurappa Cabinet.
