Mysore/Mysuru: Raaga Vaibhava Charitable Trust, Mysuru, is bringing a grand concert to the connoisseurs of music on Saturday (Nov. 22). Pt. Sameer Rao and Mysore A. Chandan Kumar will present a flute jugalbandi concert at RamaGovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar at 6 pm. The duo will be accompanied by Vid. Adarsh on tabla and Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga.
Breathing through Bansuri has been Pt. Sameer Rao’s chosen path since the age of 11, when he began learning Hindustani Classical Music under Pt. Veerabhadriah Hiremath in Mysuru. In 2002, he became a disciple of Bansuri maestro Padma Vibhushan Hariprasad Chowrasia. He was blessed to train under him till 2010. An ‘A’ grade artiste of All India Radio, Sameer has performed across India and abroad and won accolades.
A renowned flautist and great-grandson of Violin virtuoso Sangeeta Kalanidhi T. Chowdiah, Mysore A. Chandan Kumar started his music journey from childhood. He learned initially from M. Gopalakrishna in Mysuru and then under Padma Bushan T.V. Gopalakrishnan. He also had rigorous training under Padma Bhushan P.S. Narayanaswamy of Chennai. Chandan is bestowed with many awards.
Vid. Adarsh started his training in tabla at the tender age of 8 and later received training from Pt. Rajgopal Kallurkar in Faroukhabad style. Interestingly, Adarsh has also received training in mridanga from Anoor Ananta Krishna Sharma. He is presently having advanced training from Pt. Yogesh Samsi of Mumbai.
A graded artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan, Adarsh has performed in all major cities in India and abroad.
Vid. A. Radhesh hails from a family devoted to classical music for three generations. His grandfather Hemmige Srirangachar and aunt H.S. Mahalakshmi were celebrated musicians.
Radhesh has learnt mridanga under P.G. Lakshminarayana of Mysuru and Mannargudi Eshwaran. He is an ‘A’ grade artiste of All India Radio, Mysuru and recipient of many awards.
