Annual celebration of Vismaya School of Learning

Mysuru:  As part of its annual celebration, Vismaya School of Learning, Mysuru, has organised a Magical Evening of Bharatanatyam showcasing the grace, beauty and dedication that embody the art of Bharatanatyam, on Dec. 28 at 5.30 pm at Ganabharathi auditorium in city.

All the skilled dancers of the School are under the tutelage of their Guru Smriti Ramesh Kaushik, a Bharatanatyam artiste, choreographer and dance teacher based out of Mysuru.

 She is an alumnus of Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai. Trained under Dr Shashikala Ravi in Pune, she began exploring nuances in Abhinaya. Currently she is mentoring under Acharya Jayalakshmi Eshwar of Delhi.

Smriti has participated in many dance dramas in Kalakshetra and has also played the lead role of Sita in Paduka Pattabhishekam and Shakuntala in Abhigyan Shakuntalam. She was honoured with the President’s Award for Best Dancer in 1999 at Kalakshetra.
