A thought-provoking display of paintings on environment protection

Mysuru:  Marking World Environment Day, artist U.G. Mohankumar Aradhya had organised an exhibition of his paintings on environment with a theme ‘Hasiru Usiru’ at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandira premises here this morning.

The expo with free entry is open till 7 pm. About 30 paintings are on display drawing attention of people towards environment protection and importance of greenery.

Inaugurating the expo, Senior Scientist Dr. T. Thippeswamy suggested that organising such exhibitions at busy areas would draw the attention of more people. He contended that increased population and growth of cities were contributing to pollution of atmosphere. He regretted that about 95% of the population is forced to breathe polluted air. He warned of severe imbalance of oxygen and carbon-di-oxide in atmosphere if the alarming trend of pollution was  not arrested.

Mysore Science Foundation Secretary B. Santosh Kumar, Origami Artist H.V. Muralidhar, Artist Mohankumar Aradhya and others were present.
