A.V. Prakash Memorial Concerts in city from Mar.16 to 18

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, will be conducting a three-day music festival in memory of Venu Vidwan A.V. Prakash, an eminent flautist and guru, at Sri  Vidyabharathi Prarthana Mandira, Chandramoulishwara Temple, V.V. Mohalla, Mysuru, from Mar. 16 to 18, daily at 6 pm.

Mar.16: Veena recital by Vid. Dr. S. Vijayaraghavan, an accomplished and top grade artiste of AIR. Known for his traditional and pure style, Vijayaraghavan is a recipient of ‘Karnataka Kalashree’ from Sangeeta Nrutya Academy, ‘Sangeetha Vidyanidhi’ from JSS Sangeetha Sabha and many more honours. He has performed in South Zone music programme of AIR.  Besides, Vijayaraghavan continues his profession as a doctor (he had served as professor at MMC).

He will be accompanied by Vid. A. Radesh on mridanga and Vid. V.S.Ramesh on ghata.

Mar. 17: Flute recital by Vid. C.S. Keshava Chandra, a promising flautist who learnt the art from his father, Vid. Dr. C.A. Sreedhar, a renowned flautist. He has won first prize in AIR music competition and awards from Rama Seva Mandali, Bengaluru and performed in several sabhas including the Madras Music Academy.

He will be supported on the violin by Vid. Krithik Kaushik, on the mridanga by Vid. Mysuru Vadiraj and on the ghata by Vid. S. Manjunath.

Mar. 18: Veena concert by Vid. Balu Masti, a disciple of Vid. A.V. Prakash and later he was also mentored by Vidu. Jyanthi Kumaresan. A regular performer in margazli season in Chennai, he has performed in many prestigious platforms across the globe. A multifaceted artiste, Balu Masti is also a software entrepreneur.

Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy and Vid. Raghunandan Rao will provide him support on mridanga and ghata respectively.
