AAP stages novel protest against price rise

Mysore/Mysuru: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Mysuru District Unit volunteers staged a novel protest against price rise, through a street play at the Gandhi Square in city yesterday.

AAP Youth Wing President Mohammed Ismail, who led the protest, said that the family income of common people is just around Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month and it is very difficult for them to manage their budget.

“Instead of providing relief, the Government is putting extra burden on common man during the present difficult times,” he rued.

Speaking to media, AAP District Unit President Malavika Gubbivani said the policies of the Government are pro-rich and without any consideration towards common people, who are being harassed due to rise in prices of all essential commodities and services. “While poor and middle class are sliding below poverty line, the rich are getting richer. It is imperative that people raise their voice against such policies,” she added.

The street play was written and directed by Girish Machalli, Organising Secretary of AAP City Unit.

Ravichandra, Irfan Baig, Masood, Usha Sampathkumar, Kiran Kalyani, Syed Fareed, Varalakshmi, Akram Sharif, Dharmashree, Renukaprasad, G.R. Vidyaranya and others took part in the protest.
