Abhishek Raghuram’s Music Concert at Ganabharathi

Mysuru: A Classical Music Concert by Vid. Abhishek Raghuram has been organised in memory of R. Sundarachar and Saraswati Rao at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar on Feb. 14 at 6 pm. He will be accompanied by Vid. V.S. Gokul on violin, Vid. Vijay Natesan on mridanga and Vid. G. Guruprasanna on kanjira.

Vid. Abhishek Raghuram is one of the most exceptional vocalists of the younger generation in Karnatak music. Born and raised in an environment steeped in rhythm and melody, he hails from a distinguished musical lineage. His grandfather and guru was the renowned mridanga maestro Vidwan Palghat Raghu, while his mother, Usha, belongs to the illustrious Lalgudi family.

Trained in mridanga by his grandfather and in vocal music by his mother and Vidwan P.S. Narayanaswamy, Abhishek Raghuram has performed on prestigious stages across India and abroad. He is also a skilled mridanga player and has presented several jugalbandi concerts, experimenting with different aspects of music.

He has been the recipient of numerous prestigious honours, including the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, the Sangeetha Choodamani from Krishna Gana Sabha and awards from the Madras Music Academy, among others.
