‘Acquiring skills is key for career growth’

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that acquiring skills along with academic learning holds key for career growth, the city’s Vidyavardhaka Engineering College Principal Dr. B. Sadashivegowda said that students should always strive for updating their knowledge in this era of cut-throat competition.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Banking recruitment competitive exam coaching classes organised by Karnataka State Open University’s (KSOU)  Competitive Exams Coaching Centre at Cauvery auditorium in Muktagangothri campus here on Saturday.

Emphasising that acquiring skills will be advantageous for students in their professional career, Prof. Sadashivegowda said that one can achieve his/her desired goals only through a dedicated and in-depth study of the field they have chosen.

KSOU VC Prof. S. Vidyashankar, who presided, said that the Banking sector has undergone drastic changes over the years.

Pointing out that Banks have been striving for the benefit of the common man, he said that it is satisfactory to note that more and more women are appearing for competitive exams.

KSOU Registrar Prof. R. Rajanna, Finance Officer Dr. A. Khader Pasha, Coaching Centre Co-ordinator Jainahalli Satyanarayanagowda, Prof. Devaraj, Honnur Siddesh and others were present during the occasion.
