This refers to the news “Cow Attack” in SOM dated June 9. Stray cattle menace is all around the city on every road. Road users are at severe risk as these animals roam freely. The civic body is highly irresponsible in dealing with this menace as owners of these animals hardly care for the threats.
It is obvious, no Corporator will support action against these cattle owners and offend their vote bank. These animals are harmless as long as they are calm but suddenly start running erratically and attack every one on their way.
How long can people suffer the misery? Civic authorities need to act against the cattle owners and impose heavy penalties. Alternatively, road-users should sue civic authorities in case of accidents due to cattle menace on the city roads.
