Actor-Director Prabhu Deva to inaugurate Yuva Dasara

Jasmine Sandlas of Dhurandhar-fame, Vishal Mishra of Tabaahi-fame, Shaan, Ajaneesh Loknath, Sid Sriram to perform?

Mysuru: Renowned actor, choreographer and director Prabhu Deva will be inaugurating this year’s Yuva Dasara to be held at the sprawling 100-acre open ground located near Uttanahalli, off the Mysuru-Nanjangud Road on the outskirts of Mysuru.

Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee Working President G. Somashekar and Secretaries Arun and Sathyamurthy, who met Prabhu Deva at his Chennai residence, formally invited the actor to the event.

On receiving the invitation, Prabhu Deva is said to have given his consent to inaugurate this year’s Yuva Dasara.

Meanwhile, Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee is also said to have finalised the artistes. According to sources, this year’s Yuva Dasara will feature Bollywood playback singer Jasmine Sandlas, who rose to fame with the popular song ‘Shararat’ from Dhurandhar,  its title track and songs such as ‘Main Aur Tu’ and ‘Jaiye Sajana’ from Dhurandhar: The Revenge, 2025.

Jasmine is also famous for songs such as ‘Yaar Na Miley’ from Kick, ‘Taras’ from Munjya, ‘Illegal Weapon 2.0’ from Street Dance 3D among others.

She has even released a number of Punjabi singles and collaboration songs.

This year’s Yuva Dasara might also feature Vishal Mishra, who has lent his voice to popular songs such as the latest hit ‘Tabaahi’ from the movie Toxic starring Yash. His other famous songs include ‘Kaise Hua’ from Kabir Singh, ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from Border 2 and more.

Shaan, one of the most popular playback singers of Bollywood, is also expected to perform this year after a gap of 17 years. Shaan last performed in Yuva Dasara during 2009.

Favourites among the 90s and 2000s kids, Shaan became popular with his first hit number ‘Musu Musu Haasi Deu’ from Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. He later sang songs such as ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’ and ‘Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe’ for Dil Chahta Hai, ‘Ghanan Ghanan’ for Lagaan, ‘O Humdum Suniyo Re’ for Saathiya, ‘Chaand Sifarish’ for Fanaa, ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ for Om Shanti Om and many more such hit numbers.

Yuva Dasara will also feature Sandalwood’s well-known music composer Ajaneesh Loknath, who has composed music for Rangitaranga, Kirik Party, Sarakari Hi. Pra. Shaale, Kasaragodu, Avane Srimannarayana, Vikrant Rona, Kantara, Kantara: Chapter 1, Devil, Mark among others.

Sources informed that Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee was keen on inviting singer Sid Sriram, well-known playback singer who has lent his voice to a number of popular songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi languages.

The Sub-Committee is also planning to organise a programme starring Crazy Star V. Ravichandran as part of the Sandalwood Night event.

It is said, the Yuva Dasara organisers are yet to decide whether to hold the celebrity event for 5 days or extend it up to a week.
