Mysore/Mysuru: Kannada film producer and actor Mahendra Munoth, who is actively engaged in serving the society in whatever way possible, has taken up several pro-society acts like distributing clothes and free books to poor children apart from taking care of abandoned cows. Continuing his practice of giving donations to Goshalas in the name of his parents, Mahendra Munoth donated Rs. 51 lakh to various Goshalas this year also.
Participating at a Gopuja function at Amruthadhara Goshala in the city, Mahendra Munoth planted saplings and performed Gopuja in the name of his father Motilal Munoth. He also donated a cheque for Rs. 51 lakh for various Goshalas in the name of his parents. The actor was accompanied by his family members Suraksha Munoth, Hamsaraj Bhagyavanthi Munoth and Anand Sneha Munoth.
Speaking at the function, Mahendra Munoth opined that mother is truth and father is belief. They have brought us up with good values. “Even though our parents are not with us today, they always live in our hearts and their values continue to inspire us. It is the duty of children to continue their tradition and fulfil their aspirations. My parents were farmers and I learnt to take care of cows from them and my family is continuing their tradition,” added actor Mahendra Munoth and urged the Government to declare cow as our National Animal considering its usefulness to the society.
Representatives of Jnana Pratishthana, Kamadhenu Goshala Chikkamagalur, Adarsha Goshala, Shivagow Seva Bhajana Mandali Charitable Trust, Amruthadhara Goshala, Krishna Goshala, Surabhi Goshala, Omkara Goshala, Bhavana Brindavana Banavara, Bharatiya Govu Parivara Charitable Trust Arasikere, Shantinatha Jaina Sarvajanika Goshala and heads of various other Goshalas across the State were present.
