Mysore/Mysuru: MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah has instructed the officers to take precautions to tackle scarcity of drinking water that erupts during summer in Mysuru district.
Addressing a meeting of officers held at Zilla Panchayat meeting hall here yesterday, Dr. Yathindra said, following the onset of summer, the chances of drinking water related issues cannot be ignored. The officials should step up precautions to address the scarcity.
Seeking a clarity from officers, about any steps taken to identify those villages vulnerable to water scarcity, Dr. Yathindra said, the officers must regularly visit those villages before hand and prevent the possibilities of water crisis. The working condition of multi-village drinking water project should be reviewed and the private borewells and tankers can be deployed, as solutions to the crisis.
Any dearth of funds to implement drinking water related projects should be brought to the notice of higher officers, so that measures can be taken to supply adequate water, by utilising required funds, Dr. Yathindra added.
