Kannada film actor Chikkanna and his friends have adopted the following animals and birds of Mysuru Zoo for a period of one year from 16.3.2019 to 15.3.2020, by making a payment of Rs.87,000: Chikkanna – Leopard (Rs.35,000); Siddegowda – King Cobra (Rs.3,500); M.Mohan Kumar – 5 White Peacocks (Rs.17,500); Den Thimmaiah – 4 Peacocks (Rs.14,000); Yashas Surya – King Cobra and Green Anaconda (Rs.13,500); B.S. Lokesh – King Cobra (Rs.3,500), according to a press release from the Zoo Executive Director.
