Advocate allegedly murdered near Maddur

Body found in Shimsha River

Maddur:  Miscreants allegedly murdering an advocate and throwing the body into Shimsha River between Halehalli and Navile village has been reported on Saturday.

The deceased is Ravindra (45), a resident of Navile village and an advocate at Maddur Court since 15 years.

It is learnt that Ravindra, on Saturday, left house to his agricultural field at about 7.30 am on his bike and as he did not return home even after sunset, his wife called him over his mobile phone only to receive the message that the phone was switched off.

The panicked family members, who began to search for Ravindra, found his bike and heap of green leaves kept nearby for goats, but could not trace Ravindra. Meanwhile, following information from a villager that a body was found in Shimsha River, the villagers, who rushed near the river between Halehalli and Navile village, found the body of Ravindra naked with his head smashed with a boulder. A boulder was placed on the face when found and his slippers and damaged mobile phone was found nearby.

Malavalli Dy.SP M.J. Pruthvi, Maddur Circle Inspector K.R. Prasad and staff visited the spot and conducted preliminary enquiry besides shifting the body to Maddur Government Hospital. 

A case has been registered at Kesthur Police Station.
