Mysore/Mysuru: Senior advocate Shivannegowda, who was recently appointed as a Member of Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes, was felicitated at a programme organised under the aegis of Shivannegowda Sneha Balaga at Ideal Jawa Rotary Hall on JLB Road here.
Speaking as a chief guest on the occasion, senior advocate and ‘Law Guide’ Kannada monthly Editor H.N. Venkatesh said that the Government should be complimented for having appointed Shivannegowda as a Member of Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes, after taking into consideration his legal acumen and social service.
Noting that Shivannegowda had identified himself with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in politics too, Venkatesh wished that the senior lawyer, who has years of experience in handling civil cases, render justice to all sections of the society.
In his address Karnataka State Bar Council former President C.M. Jagadeesh said it is glad to note that Shivannegowda has got the position which he deserved. Stating that the senior advocate should work for the benefit of backward classes by practising value- based politics, he maintained that CM Siddaramaiah should be credited for having appointed an advocate for this key position. The association between CM Siddaramaiah and Shivannegowda is more than special, he added.
Shivannegowda said that, he should have got the Congress ticket from Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha seat years ago. But unfortunately it did not happen, he said and added that he has a long experience of working with Siddaramaiah in Congress party. He further said that he was happy for having been nominated to State Backward Classes Commission.
Mysore Bar Association President S. Lokesh, Vice-President M.V. Chandrashekar, Secretary A.G. Sridhar, senior Advocate Harish Kumar Hegde, Senior Journalist M.B. Maramkal, advocates Anilkumar Hegde, Mahadevaswamy, S. Umesh, Suresh Palya, N. Nandish, Hadya Shivanna, Shivakumar and others were present.
