After an interval of six months…Mysore Summer Races to start from May 27

Mysuru: The Mysore Summer Races-2026 will begin from May 27 and extends across 11 race days, to be held every Wednesday at Mysore Race Club (MRC).

It may be recalled that, owing to the outbreak of Glanders and the consequent notification issued by the State Government, racing activities at the MRC were compelled to be suspended in December 2025.

“This pause, though necessitated in the paramount interest of equine health and public safety, was a deeply felt interruption in the rhythm of our cherished traditions. In strict adherence to the prescribed protocol, all horses stabled at MRC Ltd. were subjected to comprehensive testing and the results have been duly certified. In consequence, the Karnataka Government has issued the formal denotification, thereby permitting the resumption of racing at MRC. Thus, after an interval of nearly six months, we stand poised to revive the grandeur and exhilaration of our sport,” stated a press release issued by MRC Secretary and CEO NHS Mani.
