Mysore/Mysuru: Agents have reportedly leased out a house belonging to some other person and has cheated the tenant of Rs. 5 lakh.
The tenant, who has been cheated, is 58-year-old Pushpa Ramesh Shet, a resident of Vidyaranyapuram.
One Bharathi and Sunil Kumar, who are agents to search houses for tenants, introduced one Vinaykumar to Pushpa and told her that his house located on the 11th cross of 4th Main Road in Vidyaranyapuram was available for lease at Rs. 13 lakh and took Rs. 5 lakh from her. They later got a lease agreement paper done and gave it to Pushpa.
But when Pushpa came to know that the house belonged to late Sathyanand Kumar and Vinaykumar was not the owner of the house, she demanded Bharathi and Sunil Kumar to return Rs. 5 lakh which they had received from her. As Bharathi and Sunil refused to return her money and began to avoid her, Pushpa lodged a complaint against Bharathi, Sunil Kumar and Vinaykumar at Vidyaranyapuram Police Station.
