Aggrieved residents’ appeal to Krishnaraja MLA Srivatsa

November 14, 2024

Sir,

We, the residents near Ashokapuram Railway Station (between Bedara Kannappa Temple and Ashokapuram Railway Station), behind the park from 1st Cross to 4th Cross, are facing numerous problems.

Despite our repeated requests, our MLA, T.S. Srivatsa, under whose Krishnaraja Constituency our area falls, has neither visited nor addressed our grievances.

While he frequently visits J.P. Nagar, Chamundipuram, BEML Nagar, Kuvempunagar and Jayanagar near Ramamandira, our area near Bedara Kannappa Eshwar Temple and opposite Ashokapuram Railway Station has been overlooked.

Through this column, I once again draw the attention of our MLA to our pressing issues:

1. Lack of public transport (bus or train) facilities since COVID-19. 2. No safety for residents after 7 pm. 3. Absence of HOPCOMS/ ATM counter in the area. 4. Frequent water supply issues, with erratic timings and days without prior notice.

5. Unbearable mosquito menace. 6. Irregular garbage clearance affects the health of elderly and young children. 7. The sudden relocation of our area’s post office from Jayanagar to BEML Nagar, near the last bus stop. 8. The polling booth is located far away, making it difficult for residents to travel long distances to vote. The nearby Rosella School could be utilised as a new voting booth.

On behalf of the affected residents, I urge our MLA to visit our area on a Sunday with prior notice, listen to our grievances and resolve these pressing issues.
