Mysuru, Oct. 18 (MTY&BS)- Chief Minister Siddaramaiah advised journalists to uphold the spirit of truth, rather than sensationalising the news, with the latest addition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the realm, proving a new found threat in the order.
Siddaramaiah was addressing gathering at the State-level News Photography Contest Chief Minister Cup Prize Distribution Ceremony organised by Mysore Photo Journalist Association (MPJA) at Rani Bahadur auditorium in city this morning.
Siddaramaiah said that, by using AI, misleading contents are being created, which will do more harm than good. The sensational of news is of new use to society, as a newspaper had reported that ‘Siddaramaiah Arrested’, but nothing of the sort had happened in reality.
“People believe in journalists for the reason that, they won’t lie. Hence journalists should only tell the truth and retain people’s faith in them. The MPJA was inaugurated by myself in 2021. Now the Association is distributing State-level awards. One photo is equal to hundred words. Let MPJA grow as a model to others in the State,” said Siddaramaiah.
The intolerance has reached its peak, but nobody dares to question, including the media. The motto of journalism and journalists should be only society oriented, advised Siddaramaiah.
