AICC Secretary asks party workers to visit households for votes

Mysuru:  With the Lok Sabha polls fast approaching, AICC Secretary P.C. Vishnunandhan has asked party workers to make door-to-door visits and seek votes for the Congress.

Addressing a LS polls preliminary meeting of the Mysuru District Congress at the Congress office near City Railway Station yesterday, Vishnunandhan instructed the party workers to sensitise the voters on the programmes, schemes, initiatives and projects launched by the previous Siddharamaiah Government.

Underlining the need for party office-bearers to keep in constant touch with grassroot workers, the AICC Secretary said  that participation of office-bearers in total would largely help in systematic organisation of the party.

District Women Congress President Nandini Chandrashekar who also addressed the meeting, said the Congress was striving for uniting the society on secular lines.

Maintaining that the Congress was for social justice and equality, she called upon the party workers to realise their responsibility and gear up for the forthcoming LS polls, which is crucial for the party.

Highlighting the efforts made to organise Women’s Wing of the party in every taluk, she appealed senior leaders to take grassroot workers into confidence, while working out poll strategies.

MLC R. Dharmasena, former Minister C.H. Vijayashankar, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, KPCC  Womens Wing President Dr. Pushpa Amarnath and others were present.
