Mysore/Mysuru: On the occasion of the 75th year celebration of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS), a one-day National-level seminar will be held at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru on Nov. 4.
At the seminar, issues such as water scarcity, sustainable engineering practices in implosion, deep foundation in heavy infrastructure, rehabilitation of roads in Karnataka using Geocells, case studies on earthquakes, landslides, landfilling and other issues will be discussed.
AICTE Chairman Dr. T.G. Seetharam, eminent engineers and scientists from IISc., IIT, NIT will be participating in the seminar, according to IGS Mysuru Chapter President and VVCE Civil Department Head Prof. S. K. Prasad.

IGS was established in 1948 and it has been working as a bonding agent between civil engineers and geologists.
