Aids distributed to differently abled

Mysore/Mysuru: District Centre for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled Persons, in association with Indian Red Cross Society and Department for the Empowerment of Differently Abled, had recently organised a camp and distributed aids and appliances to differently abled persons.

Since 2011, with grants received from the Department for the Empowerment of Differently abled and Senior Citizens, Mysuru division of Indian Red Cross Society is managing the District Centre for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled Persons. 

District Managing Committee, which has been constituted and chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC), is closely monitoring and implementing the scheme earmarked for District Welfare Centre for Differently Abled persons.

In an effort to bring differently abled persons to the mainstream of the society, the Centre has taken up various rehabilitation programmes including medical, educational and social services. Since 2011, the Centre has identified considerable number of differently abled persons and has distributed aids and appliances to them.

District Differently Abled Welfare Officer Malini, Rehab Centre Nodal Officer Arjun, Rehab Centre experts and other employees of Rural Rehab Centre, Mysuru taluk, were present during the camp, according to a release.
