AIDYO stages protest to withdraw permission for sale of liquor

May 6, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Urging the Government to withdraw the permission given to sell liquor and impose a complete ban on liquor, the members of All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) staged a symbolic protest near the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in city yesterday.

Alleging that the State Government has given permission for liquor sale only to fetch revenue, the protestors said that the sale of liquor would only create problems to the families which are already in trouble due to the lockdown rendering many jobless.

Pointing out that there was peace and harmony during the lockdown when liquor sales were banned, the protestors urged the State Government to ban liquor sale.

AIDYO State Committee President M. Umadevi, District President Harish, Secretary Sunil, Sandhya, Seema and others were present.
