Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra to perform at Palace tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra (AWSO), under the aegis of Training Command Head Quarters and Air Force Station in Jalahalli, Bengaluru, will be performing in front of the Mysore Palace tomorrow (Sept. 28) between 4 pm and 5.30 pm as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme.

AWSO: A centre of excellence for the musicians, AWSO was formed in the year 2002 and is housed at Air Force Station in Jalahalli, Bengaluru.

The objective of AWSO is to interact with the people and create awareness about the Indian Air Force through the sound of music. It symbolises teamwork, harmony, ethos and dedication of an air warrior to their profession.

AWSO has given concerts across the world including France, Italy, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Besides, they have also participated in International Military Music Festivals in Finland, France, Italy and Malaysia. AWSO with its scintillating performance has enchanted the audience at home and abroad. It is the only military orchestra in the country which has been empanelled with Indian Council of Cultural Relation. In 2005, the Indian Air Force Band became the first Asian member of the International Military Music Society based at Norway.

In 2007, Indian Air Force hosted and participated in the first ever International Military Music Festival in The team has also performed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan during a special performance for the President of India.
