Mysore/Mysuru: Labour Union members of colleges affiliated to Karnataka State Higher Education Department, under the banner of All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), staged protest opposite the Office of Joint Director of Higher Education Department, Hunsur Road here on Thursday morning, urging the State Government to release pending wages for all labourers working in colleges.
Alleging that College Principals are falsely claiming that they are providing minimum wages for their employees, the protesters demanded the State administration to intervene and stop this unfair labour practice and provide statutory minimum wages according to Labour Law for all labourers working in colleges including that of lockdown period.
AIUTUC State Convenor Chandrashekhar Meti, District Joint Secretary Muddukrishna, Puttaraju, Meenakshi, Indira, Rekha and others were present.
